DRAMA LEAGUE.
' LOCAL BRANCH MEETS j Monthly Play-readings During Winter. Mr. W. J. Hall presided over an executive meeting of the Stratford branch of the British Drama League on Monday evening. There were also present: Mesdames Tyrer (treasurer), Uniacke (secretary), Young, Smith (W.I. representative), Miss Boon, and Messrs. Goodman and Moss. New members were elected, and it was decided to invite representation on the executive from the W.E.A., which body, it was pointed out, has been a strong supporter of drama in Stratford in the past. The main items of business discussed were the monthly play-read-I ings which are to take place in the Parish Hall throughout the Winter, beginning on Tuesday, April 13, and the production of a three-act play, “The Great Broxopp,” by A. A. Milne, as part of the Coronation programme. The co-operation of the Coronation Committee in meeting the expenses of the production was assured. The cast for the comedy has been chosen, and the members are now busily rehearsing. Festival in July. The selection of a judge for the local Drama League Festival, which is to be held at the end of July, was also discussed, and it was pointed out that it was essential to have a man who, while giving helpful criticisms of the players, would, at the same time, hold the interest of the audience in those criticisms. The hope was expressed that strong public support of the Drama League in its work, which is an important adjunct to the social life of the town, would be forthcoming;
