Travelling Cabinet System. Christchurch, April 6. Thirty travelling museums are to be fitted out shortly at the Canterbury Museum for circulation among the schools. This it part of the Carnegie scheme for museum J velop meat in New Zealand, and will involve he appointment of a special officer to take charge of th- educational work. It is expected I hat. the appointment v ill be made .shortly, and that it will not be long before the travelling exhibit.': are prepared. The new director of the Canter bury Museum, Mr R. A. Flla, said tn his arrival in Christchurch Hurt some cf the cases for li'iu traveller museums had already rr ached Christ church, and the remainder of them would be here shortly. Part of the scheme was the attachment of n educational officer to < ach of ill principal museums, and lie under s ood that an apjointni-i-nt for the post in Christchuich would be made before long. The fitting' out of the travelling museums, Mr Falla said, would be one of his eaily duties in Christ-, church. Another part .of the scheme, v.hich he was particularly keen on developing, would be the bringing of the children more frequently into the museum.
