Navy Department has announced Ithe development of a radio spy device to locate the track of enemy warships at long distances at sea. Details are concealed, but the device is likely (to be tested at th© annual manoeuvres which are starting an April 1G at Hawaii, California and Alaska. They will last six weeks and 139 ships and 474 aeroplanes’ are taking part. The manoeuvres will include the defence of Hav.’aii by warjhips and the testing of modern radios of two types. One will be operated by six men for inter-ship com munication, and the other will be carried on a man’s back for communication with landing forces,
