CAR-DRIVER KILLED.

Collision at Paremata. Press Association—Copyright. Wellington. April 2. A fatal collision occurred at sunrise on a corner mt Paremata to-day between a car and a lorry. The driver of the car, Mr. Albert Foster Smelt, motor driver, aged 33, of Brooklyn, wus killed. His only passenger, Mt. G. Lewis, a harman, of Wellington, received severe internal injuries necessitating his. •removal to the Wellington Hospital. The truck driver, Mr. Lesli? Holmes, employed by P. S. Brader.y, contractor, of Paremata. escaped injury. 1 he car, which it is believed is owned by a rental company, was extensively damaged. The front wheels were torn off and-' thrown back over the steering wheel. The whole of the tray of the lorry was wrenched off and thrown on to the side of the road, and the lorry itself ended Up in a depression on the far side of the road.
