Pasture at Napier. Press Association—Copyright. Napier, April 1. The sowing of permanent pastures has been commenced on the 7500-acre area of Ahuriri lagoon that was thrown up in the 1931 earthquake. The lagoon was taken over by the Small Farms Board in 1934 for reclamation and development purposes, with the object of subdivision and close settlement, since when the scheme has been in the hands of the Public Works Department. Dewatering has been completed, and the rowing of the first area of 289 acres is now under way. Further areas will b? brought into cultivation shortly.
