As a result, these two men.have received dozens of letters from girls, seeking romance. Major Ruddock told the Australian Associated Press that he was frightened to go to the mailbox now. There were at least 25 letters daily-from blondes, brunettes and others, some proposing marriage and others writing romantically about “the wide open spaces.” One asked Major Ruddock to bring half a dozen Aussies to her town to meet her girl friends .
