Bread may soon be dearer in Britain than during the War, owing to the increasing severity of the wheat position. The London ’iourmillers have announced the sixth successive increase in standard grade flour in 22 days. It is now six shfllings higher per 280 pounds than on March 7, when it rtcod at 39/6.

The price of bread was s}d. per loaf before the War, and touched 9£d. at the close of the War, with a peak price of lid. h: 1925. It is now 9d., with the prospect of an increase of jd. in the next few days.
