HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING
NO ELECTION. i Greater Interest Among Parents Desired. The meeting of the Stratford Primary School Committee, to be held this month, Will be regarded as the householders’ meeting, although there will be no election of tha school committee as the members were chosen, las t year for a two-year term. The chairman, Mr. J. Morrison, infomed the “Central Press” to-day that It was considered that these meeings should be held in order to keep alive the interests of parents in the affairs of the school, ia.nd he expressed the hope that parents would show a little more interest than they had done in the past. In any case, he said, a report and balance sheet would have to be furnished this year. Commenting upon a statement made at a meeting of a South Island Educatio Board, that there was a general feeling that there- should be a reversion to the system of electing school committees annually, Mt. Morrison said thut some time ago the matter was discussed' by the pentral Taranaki School Committee's Association, and the general opinion of members was in favour of a two-year term, as it was cosidered that at the end of one year some new members had only- become conversant with school committee affaire.
