DEARER PETROL.

Increase in Tank Waggon Freight Rates. An increase in the price of petrol affecting a number of Taranaki towns became operative at midnight last night, but at Stratford the extra charge will not be passed on to the motorists until Saturday morning. Ths price will then be increased by Jd. per gallon. There will be no change at New Plymouth, Hawera, Inglewood and Waitara, but Stratford and Midhirst are among the towns affected. The reason for the increase, it is stated, is the higher tank waggon freight rates.
