An exhaustive search on the Awatea on arrival this morning failed to reveal the whereabouts' of a stowaway vfao was discovered on the vessel after she left Sydney on Saturday. Police, detectives, Customs officials and members of the ship’s company unsuccessfully combined in a hunt for the missing man, whose name is R. Williams. He is an Australian bartender, laged 22. He came down .to breakfast this morning, but slipped away before the police and Customs officials boarded the ship. A strict watch was' kept over both gangwiays. and it is considered impossible that the man escaped by these.
