BAND CONTEST.
Mr. R. J. Estall Unable To Act As Adjudicator. |Uponi receipt of information tfhat Mr. R. J. Estull conductor of lite Woolston band, had met with an accident which, it was conalu red, would incapacitate him for about a month, Mr. A. E. Sayers, secretary of the Taranaki Brass and Pipe Bands’Union telegraphed inquiring whether Mr. Estall would be able to fulfill his engagement as musical adjudicator at the Tana.nakL contest, to be held on April 10 at Waitara.
To-day Mr. Sayers received a reply from Mr. Estall stating that acting on his doctor's advice, he would be
unable to adjudicate. To fill the ' position a. vote will be taken among the Taranaki brass bands to select the adjudicator from two other prominent conductors who had been Written to.
On behalf of the union, Mr. Sayers has expressed the sympathy of bandsmen with Mr. Estall in his indisposition.
