OIL DISCOVERED

Prospecting on West Coast Press Association—Copyright. Dunedin, March 23. A party of six prospectors has discovered what are considered to be valuable oil deposits on the west coast between Milford Sound and Martin’s Bay. Some of the party will return to Queenstown at the end of the week bringing samples of petroleum or crude oil, which is said to be of a very combustible nature. It has been arranged for a Government geologist to visit the locality and furnish a report on the nature of the discovery.
