SELECTORS CONCUR. N. GaHichan in Team for England. Press Association —Copyright. Christchurch, March 23. N. Gallichan, Manawatu and Wellington representative left-hand slow bowler, has been added to the New Zealand cricket team which will leave £or itt 1 tour of Englund next Saturday. The addition of this player to the 14 men already chosen was made by the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-day with the concurrence of the New Zealand selectors and on the recommendation of the- manager, captain and vice-captain of the New Zealand team. ‘

The announcement Was made yesterday by Mr A. T. Donnelly, chairman of the management committee of the council, who said that in the afternoon a telegram had been received from M. L. Page, captain, H. G. Vivian, vice-captain, and T. C. Lowry, manager, all of whom had had great experience of English cricket conditions, reading as follows: —• “We are unanimously ot the opinion that the team as at present constituted is definitely short of stow bowlers for such a long tour and we , suggest the inclusion of Gallichan as an additional man if possible.—Page, Vivian, Lowry.”

“With the concurrence of the New Zealand selectors,” said Mr Donnelly,

‘the management committee has agreed to the request <and Gpllichan has been asked to join the team for England.”

Donnelly will take part in the match with the M.C.C. at Wellington to-morrow. With the decision yet to be made regarding the 12th man, the New Zealand team will be: M. L. Page (Canterbury, captain), H. G. Vivian (Auckland, vice-captain), J. L. Kerr (Canterbury), W?A. Hadlee (Cla-nter-Irnry), D. A. R. Moloney (Mana-watu-Wellington), G. L. Weir (Auck-land-North Auckland), E. W. Tindill (Wellington), W. M. Wallace (Auckland), J. R. Lamason, A. W. Roberts (Canterbury), J. A. Dunning (Otago), J. Cowie (Auckland). The umpires will be Messrs' C. Moore (Wellington) and, Montgomery (Auckland). Two New Zealand Cricket Council members arrived at today, Messrs E. E. Luttrell and E. R. Caygill.
