NEW POST OFFICE.

Plans Being Prepared for Wanganui Building. Press Association—Copyright. Wanganui, March 23. In connection with the provision. oT •i new post office building for Wanganui, the Post and Telegraph Department has instructed Mr R. G. Tallboys, F.N.Z.1.A., the well-known Wanganui architect, to study the site and draw' plans for The new structure. The office is to have a frontage of 140 feet to Ridgway Street, and w'ill cover the area between Mr T. Ballingall’s office and the present brick building. The old timber structure w’ill be demolished. Although many intricate details are yet to be settled, the cost of the work is estimated at well over £50,000.

'Die architect said it was too soon yet to give any details of the building, which, will be a three-storey structure with a basement. The department ' was definitely departing from the old type of post office building, and was insisting upon the introduction of modern design.
