Cricket and Finance.

The manager of the English Test team (Captain Howard) can see uo alternative to transmitting the English share of the gate receipts of the present tour to London, at a loss of 25 per cent, in exchange. Asked whether he proposed to take the loss on exchange or leave the money invested in Australia, Captain Howard said the previous practice had been to transmit it to London. He did not think it could be varied now. “But I would be glad to know of a way of getting over the loss,” he said. _ “What about buying wool with the money and exporting the wool?” he was asked. “t have heard that suggestion before; but you tell me what would happen to me if wool fell 1/- a pound,” he replied. Captain Howard said he could not forecast what amount would be transmitted.
