Blum, has refused to ban all political meetings for six months on the ground that it is incompatible with liberty. Large forces of guards have been drafted to Paris in view of the disturbed state oT t'h e capital. All was quiet U.te to-night, but thousands of men were still occupying at least three factories, demanding better wages and conditions. The magistrate investigating the riots at Clichy, a suburb of Paris, where a bultet narrowly missed M. Blum, opened proceed, ihgis againsft men charged Wlt'H homicide and attempt at rebellion. Seven others under arrest are awaiting examination.
