CLAIM FAILS.
Echo of “Shark Arm" Case. Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, March 19. Mrs Brady’s suit against two defectives.' failed. The jury to-day returned a verdict in favour of the detectives, for whom judgment was entered. Mrs. Brady, wife of Jamas Brady, who was charged in connection with the notorious “shark arm” murder case, sued the two detectives for alleged wrongful detention of herself during investigation, of the case. A Sydney cable dated March stated that, as an aftermath of tin arrest of Patrick Brady in May, 1935. in connection with the death of James Smith in the “shark arm” casein which Brady was subsequently acquitted., Mrs Grace M,ary Brady brought an action in the Supreme Court against Detectives Frank Allmond and Frank Matthews, claiming £'2ooo damages for trespass on her home and unlawful arrest and impri Isonment. Mrs Brady’s counsel claimed that the whole enterprise was not to arrest the woman's husband bon» fide on a Warrant, but to got the wife away from her husband and keep her in custody through the night, as it was alleged was done.
