Palmerston North’s Third Course. Fialruerston N., March 20. Situated in a position handy to the centre of the city, almost, unrivalled’ .n No.. 1 Zealand exc.pt by the Hagley club’s course .at Christchurch, which is of only nine holes, the Palmerslpn Norlh Golf Club's new course to the south of ithe Esplanade, between Park Road and the Manawatu River, was opened to-day by Mr. A. E. Mansford. It is a mile and a half from the chief post office, and within eaey i Liking distance of hundreds of Palin, mon North homes. There is a good-sized clubhouse with verandah, a professional's shop and residential quarters. T]here is still a good deal of work Io be done, but it has the makings of a first-class course. The length of the holes and the bogy for each is as follows: First, 456 yards, five bogy; second, 301 ylards, four; third, 467 yards, five; fourth., 150 yards, three;' liltli 360 yards, four; sixth, 383 yards, lour; seventh 185 yards, three; eighth 575 yards, five; ninth, 133 yards, three; tenth 360 yards, four; eleventh 381 yards, five; twelfth, 305 yards, four; thirte imh, 315 yards, four; fourteenth, 500 yards, five; fifteenth, 370 yards, four; sixtenth, 208 yards, three; siventeenth, 353 yards, four; . ighteenit’i, 340 yards, four. The in ward course is 3132 yards with i. bogy of 37, and the full length 6142 yards, v.'itli a bogy of 73.
