Agreement Reached for Taranaki Press Association —Copyright. Eltham, March Iff. ; The announcement was made at a meeting’ of the Taranaki Electric Power Board to-day that an agreement had been reached between the electric supply authorities of the province and the Electrical Workers’ Union, at a conference of employers and employees. This would become operative, stated Mr N". H. Moss, the representative or the board, after receiving the approval of the Arbitration Court. The award was divided into four sections covering troublemen linesmen, and assistants. generating station operators, inspectors, and electrical wiremen. In the case of the Taranaki boai’d, the increase in wages under the new award aggregates £lOOO a year, the total increase over the whole staff being £lBOO. The supply authorities included in the area are the South Taranaki. Opunake. New Plymouth and the Taranaki power boards. The board considered the amalgamation of local boards proposal, and the following resolution wiasl adapted:: “That the board is of the opinion that the only method of bringing about amalgamation is by the creation oi»
