Mr. Justice Ostler’s Views On Damages. Press Association —Copyright. Wellington, March 18. The need for overcoming the difficulty facing courts in awarding damages for all time in accident cases when the full future extent of injuries cannot be determined was commented >n by Mr. Justice Ostler at the tielaring of a collision case in the Court of Appeal to-day. Mr. R. P. Towle, who appeared for an Auckland motorist appealing against a motion in favour of an injured motoiHcyclisf, submitted that the damages awarded by a. jury were often excessive. Mr. Justice Ostler: '“1 think the time is fast coming when we will have the law amended so that people in accidents like this will be paid weekly sums so long as their injuries last.*’
