Opening Match in Perfect Cricket Weather. Press Association—Copyright. Christchurch, March 19. Perfect cricket weather is being experienced for the opening match ot the M.C.C. tour,' versus a Combined Canterbury-Otago team. The wicket and outfield are both in excellent order, the turf being in first class order. The M.C.C. team is:-—Wyatt (captain), Hammond, Ames, Copson, Duckworth, Farnes, Fishlock, Leyland, Sims. Voce, Worthington anil Hardstaff twelfth man. Allen, the M.C.C. captain, is unable to play because ot an ankle injury re ceived in Australia. The Otago-Canterbury team is as follows: M. L. Page (captain), J. L Kerr, W. A. Hadlee, K. F. M. Uttley, I. B. Cromb, A. W. Roberts, F. P. O’Brien, J. Dunning, G. Mills, E. T. Mulcock, C. S. Elmes, M. Sharpe (twelfth man). M.C.C. won the toss and batted first, and at the luncheon adjournment had scored 72 runs for the loss of three wickets.

At 3.30 p.m. M.C.C. had lost four wickets for 75 runs, Hammond, Leyland, Ames and Worthington being out ■
