Mrs. Shand, of Morrinsville, is at present staying’ with her daughter, Mrs Simons, Seyton Street. * * * Miss Rogers. Regan Street, entertained some friends at bridge on Wednesday night. Those present were: Mesdames Carryer, G. Carter, and the Misses Chadwick, M. Burmeister and O. Keightley. * * * The St. Patrick’s social, held in the School Hall, Miranda Street, on Wednesday, was a great success. There were 130 playing euchre, and a large number of young people dancing. The ladies present were: Mesdames O’Reilly, J. Hobowski, Webber, Higgs, McCartney, M. Kovaleski, Elgar, Cahill, Boyce. Tunbridge, Whittington, Adlam, Howard, Uniacke, Jones, Wilnishurst, Waite, Robson, Costelli, Misch- ■ wksi, J. McDonald, McAloon, Hartley, Hogan. Beattie, Walker, Shepherd, Slattery, Clark; the Misses Fischer (2), ’Dwyer. Leydon, Boyce, Costelli. Howard, Schumacher (2), Kovaleski (2), Clemets, C. Uniacke, Miller, M. Malone, Grant (2), Steiner, Foley, McDonald, O’Connor, Henry, and others.
