LABOUR PREMIER.
Mr. Savage at Palmerston North. Press Association— Copyright Palmers.ton N„ March 16. Cheers that were deafening from over two thousand throats greeted Mr M. J. Savage as he made his appearance at a social evening Accorded him to-night. Mr Savage declared that he had never before witnessed such an enthusiastic gathering. It took time to aocomplith things, the Prime Minister said, but before the sounding of the drums at the next election the whole Labour programme would ibe on the statute books. At Geneva Mr ’ Jordan ha-1 placed NewZealand on the map, and before the Imperial Conference was over the country would again be in the public eye.
“Our minds have been moulded in the struggle for life, and if anything on our part can make a repetition of the world war tragedy impossible ft is going to be done," Mr Savage declared. He added thilt in Imperial matters New Zealand’s voice must always be heard.
