Mr Morgenthau, Secretary of f.he Treasury, announced to-*day that 6,000,000 individuals and corporations had filed income tax returns for 7TT.6, tht largest, number in the past ten years. He said he expected a national total of £170,000.000 in. the first quarter payments, which were £20,000,000 in excess of the figures for 19929-30.
