Miss M. Porritt entertained a few friends at afternoon tea on Sunday. ** . * Mft Woods has l been visiting her mother, Mrs Sheehan, before returning to her home in Timaru. * * * Miss M. Walsh has returned from Wanganui, where she spent the weekend. * * , •StMrs E. Buist retained to “atiata after a few' days.- spent with her mother, Mrs A. Coleman, of Brecon Road. * * * A few Stratford golfers attended the opening of the Coif Club for the season at Eltham on Saturday. * * * Little Miss Margaret McCullough had a very jolly birthday party o. Monday night. * * * A very jolly dance was given on Saturday night by Mr and Mrs H. Taylor at their residence, Mangamingi. Many of the Eltham golfers were present as well as a few from Stratford. It was a very gay affair held in their large wool shed. Some very clever Maoris gave a delightful entertainment with songs and dances during the evening.
