CHILDREN PERISH.
Burned in Farmhouse in Canada. Five children w'ere burned to death j in a. lonely farmhouse, 280 miles north-west of Winnipeg, under the eyes of their helpless mothers, tHiile the fathers were working 100 miles away on highway construction. The children, whose ag & ranged from four years to six v'eeks old, had their home together in the farmhouse. Three belonged to Mr and Airs ; George Graham and two to Mr and ' Mrs Robert Mackenzie. After lighting a fire in a small cooking stove, the had gone to the stabl s to feed the livestock. Shortly afterwards they saw that the house was on fire, but the flames were &o fierce that they were- unable to make an entry, and were forced |to v-iatch the house burn to tjhe j ground, with their children i.mpri- ' soned inside.
