fighting a draw in a ten rounds bout with Arturo Godoy, an unbeaten American. A crowd of 4000 saw a rousing fight, in which action never lagged. Godoy, ‘Who had a pound advantage, finished strongly to offset Strickland’s early lead. Strickland’s rights to the chin earned him the second, third, fourth and fifth rounds.
