Reports Of Excessive Drinking. Press Association —Copyright. Blenheim, March 10. Reports of excessive drinking at Kaikoura by men employed in Public Works camps were referred to at a meeting of the Walrau Licensing Committee to-day by the chairman, Mr T. E. Maunstll. S.M. Mr Maunsell laid that rumours had reached his ears that complaints had been made by travellers that excessive drinking by Public Works men way taking place at Kaikoura. He suggested Sergeant Smyth, Blenheim, should instruct the Kaikoura police to keep the matter under observation and report to the annual meeting of the committee whether excessive drinking Was being permitted. If it was so the committee would consider what steps were necessary.
