Metro-Go I’d wyn-Mayer’s reissue of the famous mimical comedy “New
Mjoon,” will commence at the Plaza i Theatre, Stanford, to-day with 15awr .nice Tibbett and Grace Moore in the principal roles. It is unquestionably a picture Well above, the average. Both Tilbibet't and Mis® Moore give flawless performances exclusive of their brilliant singing. The story deals with a Russian princess' who plays with firfe in the person of an impassioned lieutenant, only to find that she has.' burned herself in the intrigue anid dangerous circumstances which follow upon her fiance’s discovery of the “affair.’’ The charming music of the staige success, including the never-todje.forgotten “Lover Come Black to Me,” “Wanting You,” “One Kiss,” and “Stout-hearted Men” is augmented with two outstanding songs, “What Is* Your Price, Madame?” and “The Farmer’s Daughter.” Roland Young and Emily Fitzroy head the supporting cast.
KING’S THEATRE “Everybody's- Old Man,” etarring Irwin S. Cobb at 'the King's Theatre. Stratford, to-night deals with a retired captain of industry w'ro adopts the reckless children of his former competitor. To straighten them out. and to show the nepheiw he left in charge of inis own plant a- trick or two. Cob'b takes charge of their deteriorating business. His plane prove so suc-ces-ful that his old business almost fails, and, tn the final scenes, after he has contrived a tender romance -between Rochelle Hudson and Norman Foster, the children discover who their mysterious benefactor is. The important supporting roles are filled by Sara Haden. Alan Dinehart and Warren fUytner. High-tension entertainment is promised in the new Fox ilDn, ‘Human Cargo,” which is to be shown on the same programme with Clare Trevor and Brian Donlevy heading the cast.
