Firing of the short range matches in the championship belt series was completed at the national rifle meeting at Trantham to-day, and at the conclusion of these C. J. Nix (Featherston) was leading in the contest for the King’s Prize with a score of 289 of a. possible 300. The next two places are filled by Bowes (Auckland City) who was King’s Prizeman two years ago. and M. J. Soler (Wanganui), each with 287.
