PATHWAY OF TRIUMPH
Prime Minister Welcomed At Auckland. Press Association—Copyright. Auckland, Last Night. A pathway of triumph was opened for the Prime Minister, the RC Hon. M. J. Savage, when he returned to the Auckland province for the first time in over a year. At Nigaruawahia, at a welcome at. Huntly, at a Labour Party rally at Otahuhu and again at Auckland he received tuiuiultuoug welcomes. Huntly observed the occasion almost as a dole holiday, .and mines in the district ceased work for a day. A Otahuhu Mr Savage ha I to alight from his car and address a large gathering before Its members entered their own motor cars freely bedecked with red streamers to form a procession about a mile long and .-•scort the Prime Minister into the city. The Umax of the city's welcome was reached when Mr S'avage reached his hotel. A crowd of about 2000 had aith.red to take up the sitrains of “For He’s a Tolly Good Fellow."
