Annual Report Presented In New Zealand. Since its foundation in 1804 the British and Foreign Bible Society has circulated nearly 500,000,000' copies of the Scriptures in 705 languages, at a total cost of over £24,000,000. These facts were presented in the annual report of the society in New Zealand, which states that the past year has been a good The society now: has nearly 500 branches, in the Dominion; and the general contributions exceeded those of the previous year by £513. The total of £559 received in the legacy fund was, however, the lowest reported for many years.
Of the total of £7951 raised in the Dominion £2413 came from the Auckland area, this being an increase from Auckland of £123. The work fix Auckland city hat 1 now been established for 90 years, and it is still the society’s largest centre of activity. There are 20 branches with 2SC helpers in the Hamilton sub-area, and its contribution was- £75 in advance of that of the previous year.
