She Is to race ,at Wellington this month and the Southlanders are saving up their spare cash tor when the starts next. * * * That good gelding Calcutta is to be turned out for a spell in the paddock. He had registered five wins in a row, two on the flat and three over hurdles. When brought in again after this let-up he should be capable of doing still better.

She races on her home track on Saturday at Pukekohe. * * * Mangukaha, who has been racing in open class will probably race in hack company on Saturday. That very good hack Sebrof, who went sore las.t spring, has been returned to training. One or two races should see this chap showing them how. He was good.
Elange, who will probably make a re-appearance at Pukekohe, has much better performances than many of thote opposing him in the Tuakau Stakes. He has been galloping well in training and this indicates him doing well in the autumn.
Top Notch has been working in great style at R'ccarton and is In great order. This winner of the Oaks looks a very bright prospect for events to come.
There will be a strong Riccarton contingent for Wellington week, no less than 18 horses being paid up for. Tiny are a good lot and Cutts Brothers have nominated teven, six of which are likely. Paper Slipper is the doubtful one and Will only go if Trench Fight fails to train on.

Imposture is worth more than a glance if she is taken to Wellington. She should have won a race ’at Hawera with a bit of luck and is very well just now.
Favourite for the hurdles at Bulls may be Otauru King. They are not a flash lot in this field and the King has had time to freshen up nicely. * * *
