Herr von Ribbenrop’s threatening speech at Leipzig has incensed the British Cabinet and made normal diplomatic exchanges with him practically impossible, says the political correspondent ol' the News Chronicle. He said hope was growing that appreciation of the injustice done Germany regarding her colonies would result in the mandatory Powers making the gesture which Germany expected) and had- the right to demand. “St is in the interests of all countries to remove the world-wide unrest created by this' injustice,” he said. “A remedy can be found either by returning Germany’s colonies or by Grmany’s own strength.” Herr von Ribbentrop denied that Germany would use her colonies for strategic purposes.
