WEEK-END CRICKET. The following team will represent Carriers in a cricket match against a Railway team at the week-end: Reader, Collins, Tockcr, Nelson. Trotter, Knight, Webber, Reeves, Cuff, Brunsden,, Dodd. DANGEROUS RAIL CROSSINGS. The elimination of dangerous, railway crossings, whether on main highways or not, was utrged by the Stratford sub-provincial executive ot the Farmers’ Union at to-day’s meeting. Appreciation of the improvements to railway stock yards at Huirea, Toko and Douglas, made biy the Department, was expressed at to-day’s l m eting of the Stratford sub-provin-cial executive of the Farmers’ Union, and it was resolved that a letter of thanks be sent to the Department. WHITE PINE EXPCRT. A promise that immediate inquiries l would be made into a statement that white pine had been exported to Austiralaa, manpfacttured into buttfelr boxes and shipped to New Zealand at a lower price than boxes can be manufactured here, was contained in a ie‘ter received at to-day’s meeting of the Stratford sub-provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union from Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industrie’s and Commerce.
