Owing to ill health, Mr A. B. Lane has resigned from the position of manager of the United- Press Association.

Mr. Lane was appointed manager in 1930. Prior to that he was News Editor of the Christchurch Timse and Star, and has held executive positions on many leading newspapers in the South Island, including the Timaru Herald,. Southland Times, Christchurch Press and Christchurch Sun. He has been ill since the beginning of the year, and it is at present a patient in the Wellington hospital Mr. Lane will probably live in Timaru, when full recovered.
