Necessity to Increase Japan’s Military Strength.
Press Association —Copyright. (Received 10.15 a.>m.) Tokio, February 28. Vice-Admiral Yonai, Minister of Marine, speaking in the Diet, denied that the navy had a policy of extension southwards. Nevertheless, Japan must seek peaceful and economic de-
velopment overseas. He added thait with the army he had prepared a concrete plan to defend Tokio and other cities againet air raids. M. Hayashi said that the Russian troops in tho Far East possessed a superiority complex, tempting them to cross the border; hence it was necdssary to increase Japan’s military strength.
