Mrs J. Von Sturmer, who has been the guest of Mits I. Eeydon, left yesterday morning for her home in Palmerston North.
Miss Inez Taylor left yesterday for a visit to friends in Wanganui. She has been staying with her sister, Miss Taylor, at the Vicarage.
Mr NT L. Uniaeke, who has been spending a short holiday with his people, left for Wellington en route for the South Island.
Mts H. Bishop and Miss Betty Bishop have returned from Auckland, where they spent three weeks’ holiday.
The marriage of Rhoda, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Childs. Lear Street, Stratford, to Iven Howard Langsmith, of the Royal Air Force, Wellington, was celebrated on Thursday. Mr and Mrs Langsmith left on Friday by car for Wellington, and will leave on a six month’s trip to Sydney.
A jolly "kitchen tea” was given on Wednesday night by Mre Reynolds, Celia Street, in honour of Miss F. Morrison, who is engaged to Mr H. Lampoline. There sere many friends present, including members of the staff of R. H. White, Ltd. The guest of honour was the recipient of many charming and very useful gifts’.
An enjoyable dance was held in the Masonic Hall, Broadway South, last night, having been organised by a band of energetic young .people. Among those present were Mesdames

Beech, Hamilton (gold satin), M. Whittle (ultramarine taffeta), T. Monk (brown check), S. Nowell (scarlet crinoline crepe), N. Vogie (blue floral taffeta), N. Ennk (light blue
silk), N. Power (powder blue organdie). B. Hale (royal blue taffeta), J. Hale (red cloak suede), J. Jackson (pale jade taffeta with diamante trimming). Apologies were received from the Misses B. and R. Shannon. Mrs Hall was "at home” on Thursday night.
