Discovered by Bette Davis while playing in Jean Muir’s little theatre worps'hop in Hollywood, Jane Bryan has- been assigned one of the leading parts in Miss, Davis’ new .picture, “Marked Women,” according to word from the Warner Bros., First National studios at Burbank, California. Miss Davis had urged that Miss Bryan be signed to a studio contract after seeing her in one of Jean Muir's productions,, and w‘hen Bette recently returned from a vacation trip to Europe and learned that “Marked Women” was ready for production, she asked that Miss Bryan be tested for a leading part. The new picture’s plot centres around a recent underworld investigation in a large American city.
