BREACH OF PROMISE.
Verdict For Plaintiffs In Taranaki Case.
The hearing of the claim for £5OO general damages and £67 special damages for alleged breach of promise to marry made by Johanna A. F. Nev,'port, and the claim of George Newport for £5OO general damages for alleged seduction against William Feming was completed in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth yestcrda»y before His Honour Mr. Justice Reed, except for a non-suit point to be decided. The jury found for both plaintiffs and assessed the damages at £250 for Miss Newport and £125 for hei father. The claim for special damages was abandoned during the healing’. Judgment Was? adjourned until argument has been heard regarding a. non-suit point raised by counsel for the defendant.
