AWATEA’S ARRIVAL AT SYDNEY. The Awatea •arrived at Sydney from Auckland at 7.40 a.m. to-day, report'd the Press Association. BUILDING PERMITS. During the month of F-brnury bull 1ing permits to the value of £7542 were if sued by th 5 Stratford Borough Council. Included are two business premises, one for £lOOO and the other for more, than £lOOO. BOUND FOR CAMP. A sight which attracted considerable interest in Stmtford this morning was tlm mochanpsod Taranaki regiment proceeding to the' eamip al Wavei'ley. Four large motor lorries carrying the troops were headed hi-' members o.f the motor cycle pl: toon. NEW RAILWAY BELL. A new railway bell was discovered recently at the Stratford station and has been placed in position on the platform. It is much larger than <he damaged one which it replaced, and its warning sound can be heard at a considerable distance.
