NAPIER WOOL SALE
SLIGHT INCREASE ON WELLINGTON Bradford Competed Strongly Without Limits. Press Association—Copyright. Napier, Last Night.*’ The third wool sale of the season at Napier to-day resulted in prices being recorded that were on a par to a half-penny better than those at Wellington last week and about twopence down on the January Napier sale. There was an offering of about 30,500 bales, which was divided among most consuming countries, Bradford on this occation being keenly in the market and competing strongly. Buyers? limits were very inelastic with the result that competition, v’as the keenest at any ( sale so far this season. Coarse wools were keenly in demand l as against line wools, competition being particularly strong f\r any lines showing the Lincoln type. Coarse wools were down lid on The January sale, fine Wools were easily 3d down and other sorts were down at much as 3d However, these prices were better than those anticipated, being the equal of or slightly better than those at Wellington, and in consequence growers Were prepared to meet the market, which resulted in good clearances.
The top price of the sale was ISid for a line of Lincoln,, while the best fleece wools made 18d Top lines of hoggets made to 172 d, good necks tb 15Jd, pieces 14|d, bellies 13d, Jocks 6d to 9d and crutchings 123 d.
