Evidence of TB among nurs s at the Masterton hospital was the sub ject of a report discussed by the Wairarapa Hospital Board to-day. ? rather alarming statement that the younger generation of New Zealanders did not show the same immunity to infection from pulmonary tuberculosis as In the past, was mad by Dr. R, A. Shore, Director of the Hospital’s Division of the Health Depart ment, in the course of the discuss ion.
The Director-General of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, strongly advised th board to take immediate action to relieve the congestion in the nurses' home, besides carrying out the recommendations made by Miss Lam bie, Director of the Nursing Division It was stated that during the last twelve months there had been at least seven members of the nursing staff under review, either as having tuberculosis or suspected of being 1-/ fected. The board decided to take action as recommended.
