ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE.
Year a Record One for New Members. The quarterly meeting ot Loyal , Stratford Lodge, Manchester Unity ‘ Independent Order ot Oddfellows, was held in the Lodge Room, Broadway South, last night, N.G. Bro. A. G. Beel presiding over an attendance ot 50 members. Visitors were present from Eltham, Midhirst and Hawera. One new’ candidate was initiated and two nominated and balloted for. The balance-sheet for the year showed the finances of the lodge to be In a. very healthy state, the year being a record one fqr new members, for the small amount ot sick pay paid out, and for the large amount in the management fund. Members paid tributes to the secretary, Bro. L. L. Bellringer, to whose energies this state was largely due. Bros. Pearce, Bellringer and Beal were elected as delegates to represent the lodge at the District Conference.
Election of officers retailed as follows:—l.P.N.G., Bro. A. G. Beal; N.C., Sis. Maru; V.G., Sis Rogers; E.E., Sis. Shersota; W., Sis. Major; 1.G., Hro. Bradshaw; L.M., Bro. Summerfield; R.S. N.G., Sis. Byron; L.S.N.G., Bro. Pettigrew; R.S.V.G., Sis Ireland; L.S.V.G., Sis. Wellt: A. Con. Bro. L. Beal; B. Con. Bro. Reynolds.
The newly-elected officers were installed by P.D.G.M. Bros. Weodley and Sherson.
Supper was served by ladies of the social committee, after which members spent the remainder of the evening dancing to music supplied by Sis ters Bonner and Brown and Bro. Woodley,
