LOYALIST OFFENSIVE.
Rebels Withdrew After Three Hours. Press Association—Copyright. Madrid, Feb. 17. General Miaja to-day launched a powerful Loyalist offensive in the Jarama sector. Twenty-two Loyalist bombing planes, escorted by a. squadron of chasers, machine-gunned rebel trenches 1 , after which infantry advanced under the protection of tanks and machine-guns and compelled the withdrawal of the rebels after three hours’ fierce fighting.
