TROMBONE TRIOS.

Solo Classes Now Finished at Nelson. Press Association—Copyright. Nelson, To-day. Solo classes in the Band Contest concluded this morning. The ideal weather to-day bids well for the quickstep to-morrow, when a great crowd is expected. All available seats are already booked.

Mr E. P. Kerry, the adjudicator, said that, taking the class as a whole, the trombone trios had not been bad. The results were:—

Trombone Trio (12 entries): Timaru Municipal. 80 points; Dannevirke, 77; Nelson Garrison. 70.

Side Drum Solo: C. Bell, Port Nicholson Silver, 93; J. Lees, St. Kilda, 92.

Bass Drum Solo: W. W. Lock, Nelson Garrison, 86; H. J. Hall, Wanganui Garrison, 85.
