HEALTH OF STUDENTS RHODES SCHOLARS. Conferences Being Held in Adelaide. Press Association—Copyright. Received noon. Adelaide, To-day. ’At the Australasian Universities Conference, Professor Dawson, of Otago, outlined a scheme for the care of the health of students. He said the subject presented many important problems. The Australian Students’ Congress passed a resolution expressing dissatisfaction with the present method of selecting Rhodes scholars. It alleged that insufficient consideration was given by the Selection Committee to Rhodes's expressed desire that emphasis should be placed on personality and capacity for leadership, and while it did not consider brilliance in sport was a necessary quality, it appeared in some cases inadequate. Consideration was also given to the terms of Rhodes's will in respect to candidates’ fondness for and participation in manly outdoor sports.
