SAD STATE OF THINGS
Mania For Test Cricket In Australia.
Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, February 16.
Mr Neville Cardus, writing in the Sydney Sun, similarly to J. B. Hobbr, on the poor attendances at the State matches in which England is engaged, says: "This sad state of things I believe it' caused by the mania for test cricket which battens on the game like some Moloch devouring the young.
“If the public stays away from ordinary games and if the players In these games use them at 1 moments of relaxation then how are future test match cricketers to be bred and made accustomed to the atmosphere of important and challenging cricket? Everything in this world perishes where high finance if the first and main consideration.”
