ROYAL FAMILY AT OLYMPIA

INDUSTRIES FAIR.

NEW ZEALAND STAND.

Keen Interest Shown In Various Exhibits Press Association—Copyright. (Received Noon.) London, February 16. A great crowd turned out to tee the Royal Family inspect the Empire section of the British Industries FSir. The road outside Olympia was black with a mass of people as Queen Mary and the Princess Royal followed the Duke and Duchess of Kent before their Majesties arrived. The Duke and Duchess of Kent’s arrival was a complete surprise to the officials, as it was the Duchesses first visit. The displays of Australia and New Zealand, which were the first inside the door, got most attention from Royalty. As the Queen Mother and the Princess Royal arrived. there was a swift battle of tactics.' between Mr S. M. Bruce, High Commissioner for Australia, and Mr W. J. Jordan, High Commissioner for New Zealand who were standing beside their respective

stalls 1 . Mr Bruce got the visitors to the Australian stand first. Here Queen Mary had a short talk about the exhibits and then Mr Jordan, by a touch of wizardry, lured the couple to the New Zealand stand, where Queen Mary asked many questions about honey and butter production. She was' then joined by their Majesties, the Queen recalling how she inspected a butter factory during her visit to New Zealand. The Royal Party then moved off, but Mr Bruce triumphed a few minute's later when the party was passing the Australian stand again. He had their Majesties inside the stall, v,<he-re they talked and laughed for some time, their Majesties showing, keen interest in a large photographed production of incidents during their Australian tour.

Altogether the party spent about an hour inspecting every stand before taking their departure.
