FLOWER SHOW.

At Stratford Town Hall On Friday.

The chief event of the year for Central Taranaki gardeners, the Stratford Horticultural Society’s summer show, is to be held at the Town Hall on Friday, February 19. Catalogues are now available and the entries close with the secretary, Mr C. R. F. Tilley, on the 18th. In addition to the flower sections, which cover a wide range and which provide an extensive selection of trophies, there are sections designed to interest as large a number of both the junior and adult population as is possible. A* silver-mounted oak tray is the award for the points prize in the special competition entry, which is linked to women’s organisations in the Central Taranaki district and their children, who compete in a junior section. Vegetable exhibits have always been a strong feature of the show’s display, and it is expected that weather conditions during the past few months will have the effect of making the competition in this class even keener than in the past.
